St. ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëùµ¼º½ÍøÖ· area girls golf teams raked in the hardware Tuesday, as Duchesne rallied from four strokes down at the start of the day to win the Class 1 crown by 16 shots at Crown Pointe in Farmington — its first state title in program history — and MICDS held on to its first-day lead to take home the Class 2 championship at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa — its third overall and first since back-to-back Class 1 titles in 2014 and 2015.
Individually, MICDS sophomore Lisa Zhang had a runner-up finish in Class 2, just ahead of Wright City sophomore Morgan Nute and Maplewood-Richmond Heights freshman Sara Kolar, who tied for third, while Mehlville junior Eva Brown claimed third in Class 3 at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield and Whitfield freshman Tina Zhang and Duchesne senior Maddie Denker finished third and fourth, respectively, in Class 1.
In addition to Zhang, MICDS got all-state (top 15) individual finishes from Morgan Withington in a fifth-place tie and Mackenzie Froedge in a tie for 13th.
